Tibetan Community Center Yard Sale at the 2006 Himalayan Fair
The Tibetan Community Center of Northern California (TCCNC)- A project of TANC - is organizing a yard sale at this year's Himalayan Fair (May 20-21, 2006). The sale will happen at the grassy area on Walnut Street just across from the park and next to the Berkeley Art Center. Our friends at the Himalayan Fair were kind enough to let us use this area. 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go towards the Tibetan Community Center Project.

WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT PLEASE DONATE ITEMS THAT YOU DON'T NEED OR USE MUCH

We are looking for household and electronic items, toys, and other items that are either new or in good condition. No clothes and books. This could be a great opportunity to do some house spring cleaning and also support the community center project. Please make a list of items that you are donating. Kindly drop the items off at 5A Rent-A-Space at their Berkeley location which is 601 Cedar Street, Berkeley, CA 94710. The storage company is providing one month of free storage to TANC. We will be accepting drop offs at the storage site on May 13 and 14 (10am to 5 pm). We will try our best to schedule one or two more drop off days depending on if we have enough volunteers helping us.

VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED

We urgently need 10-12 volunteers to help on a number of things: Help out at the storage site during drop offs, drive and collect items from people's homes (in a few cases), help with loading and unloading items into the truck on May 20/21, distribute and post flyers on the yard sale, and help with actual sale on the fair days.

The mission of TCCNC is to empower Tibetan-Americans of all ages to thrive in the United States, while promoting the continuity and development of Tibetan social, cultural, and artistic traditions. The TCCNC will be a refuge for Tibetans in exile, and a gateway to the living culture of Tibet for the Bay Area community at large. The Center will provide a mixture of social services and educational, recreational, and cultural programming to the Tibetan and Bay Area communities. TANC is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations to TCCNC/TANC is deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

For more information, questions, or if you'd like to volunteer, please contact Kelsang Aukatsang at 415.425.0234.
